There have been a few rare cases where military members were allowed to bring home dogs they'd adopted in Iraq (you can <a href="http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/10/19/iraq.ratchet.the.dog/index.html" target="new" rel="nofollow">read about Ratchet here</a> but we're not even supposed to pet them.
