The Dor Baba Camel Train

That’s Camel Train not Camel Toe. This district is way up in the mountains with the district center way up high overlooking a trading post. First though, the obligatory cute kids picture.

Kids

These pictures are from 2 different missions to Dor Baba. Other than the amazing views they were both incredibly boring missions. They were both key-leader engagements which meant just standing around the DC until the Civil Affairs guys were done talking to the important folks. With this DC way up on a mountain and not in a village there weren’t even any kids to play with. This particular picture was taken from the truck while we were trying to turn around after getting lost.

Camel Train!

This area looks like it’s a thoroughfare between two different places although I don’t know which places those are. Both times we were there there was a lot of activity down in the market area and lots of camel and mule trains carrying stuff through. It was really cool watching the activity down below… for about 5 minutes, then it was boring again.

More Camel Train!

There was a group (pack? herd? gaggle?) of goats hanging out behind the DC looking for food. While I was watching them several birds flew down and landed around the goats. After a little while a couple of the birds hopped up on the backs of a couple goats and started picking at their fur. It looked like they were eating fleas or some kind of bug off the goat’s back. Pretty neat.
One of the goats wandered over towards where I was, so I walked towards it to see if I could pet it. Every step I took towards it it took a step away from me. I chased it around for a little bit but that got boring too. It made for a funny picture though.

C’mere Goat!

I made some panoramic pictures out of some pics I took at a few different places. I’m figuring out the best way to get them online now (they’re huge) and I’ll get them posted ASAP.
