I was supposed to fly out the same day I got here but that flight was canceled. The next one was today (Friday) but we woke up to almost 8 inches of snow on the ground! It’s wet, slushy, nasty snow too. All the slush is freezing up tonight, it was already starting to when I came inside a few hours ago. So it looks like I’ll be here at least until Monday, maybe later. On the bright side I have a small room to myself with a real bed, not a cot, and there’s a shopette within walking distance and a BX a short bus ride away. I also get wireless internet in my room! Yahtzee! It’s slow, but it’s better than nothing.

Also on the bright side, there’s another guy from my unit scheduled to start his R&R this weekend so I may end up with him instead of all by myself.

Well I don’t know whether it’ll be a jet or prop job, but I’m heading out for some R&R in Qatar this week.I’ll be in Qatar for 4 days, but it could take up to a week to get there and another week to get back. Should only take a day or two each way but the flights change alot and people get bumped. I’ve seen some pictures from other guys that went and it looks like a lot of fun. There are American chain restaurants there like Chili’s and McD’s. The food here is really good, but it’ll be nice to have the familiar stuff again!

There’s WiFi there so I’ll be able to post a little while I’m there.
